VIRACT contributed to fostering Lithuanian culture and art, especially performed by young Lithuanian talents (music, painting, sculptures, etc.). We encourage the society to contribute to this goal by organizing various events, during which the actual topic the society is interested in is expressed through the material created by selected artists.
One of such events was held back in 2015 when the contemporary art exhibition “Indestructible Litas” took place. The goal of this campaign was to preserve the memory of the former national Lithuanian currency litas, as well as to help young Lithuanian artists be recognized within a larger part of society. Litas was the most significant national currency of Lithuania, therefore, we, as citizens of Lithuania, value the cultural heritage formed by our country and believe that it is essential to honor it. And for that reason, we chose the form which is the closest to nature of culture - an art exhibition.
The Bank of Lithuania officially granted shredded Lithuanian litas to the club, which became the material of exhibits of students at M.K. Čiurlionis Gymnasium of Arts. Shredded Lithuanian Litas was used to create sculptures, bas-reliefs, etc. Selected works were exhibited at one of the largest public attraction centers in Vilnius.
